Huck Bath Mat

The Huck Bath Mat is 20 x 31 in (50 x 80 cm), 0.5 kg (1.1 lb), the mat for the floor by the tub or shower. It is 900 grams per square meter of cotton terry on a woven cotton base, heavier and denser than the towels so it lies flat and takes wet feet without soaking through. Hems are double-stitched.

Woven and sewn in Portugal from 100% long-staple cotton, in the same three colors as the towels and the bedding. Machine wash warm and tumble dry medium. Skip fabric softener: it coats the loops and the towel stops absorbing. There is no rubber backing, so it goes in the machine and the dryer with the towels and lasts as long as they do.

Questions

Does it slip? The woven base grips a dry floor well. On a wet tile floor any cotton mat can move; put it down after you step out rather than under the shower door.

Can I use it as a towel? It is terry, so it works in a pinch, but at 900 GSM it dries more slowly than the Huck Bath Towel. It is made to be stood on.

How often should it be washed? Weekly, with the towels. It has no rubber backing, so heat and a full spin do it no harm.
