Huck Bath Sheet
The Huck Bath Sheet is 35 x 63 in (90 x 160 cm), 0.95 kg (2.1 lb), the oversized towel that wraps all the way around. The terry is 100% long-staple cotton at 600 grams per square meter: dense loops that take up water fast and let it go in the dryer, heavy in the hand without being slow to dry. Hems are double-stitched and there is a loop on one edge for a hook.
Woven and sewn in Portugal from 100% long-staple cotton, in Ink, Oat or Thyme. Machine wash warm and tumble dry medium. Skip fabric softener: it coats the loops and the towel stops absorbing. At nearly a kilo it wants a full spin and a medium dryer; two of them make a load.
Questions
How much bigger is it than the bath towel? 7 in wider and 8 in longer than the Huck Bath Towel: 35 x 63 in against 28 x 55 in, about 45 percent more towel by area.
Does it fit on a standard towel rail? Folded in thirds it takes about 21 in of rail, the same as a bath towel folded in half. It takes longer to dry on the rail because there is more of it.
Do I need to wash it before first use? Yes, once, on its own or with other towels. The first wash removes the mill finish and the loops start absorbing properly.
