Flax Sheet Set King

The Flax Sheet Set King is the linen set for a 76 x 80 in mattress: a fitted sheet with a 16 in pocket, a 108 x 102 in flat sheet, and two king pillowcases (20 x 40 in). The set weighs 3.1 kg (6.8 lb). The linen is 100% European flax, stonewashed at the mill so it arrives soft rather than stiff, 165 grams per square meter. It has the slubby texture and the relaxed drape that linen has, breathes freely, and gets softer with every wash. It is cut with the first wash's 3 to 5 percent shrinkage allowed for, so the sizes below are the sizes after washing.

All-around elastic on the fitted sheet, a 4 in top hem on the flat sheet, envelope backs on the pillowcases. Woven and sewn in Portugal from 100% European flax, in Ink, Oat or Thyme. Will the fitted sheet still fit after washing? Yes. The cut allows for the first wash's 3 to 5 percent shrinkage, so the 76 x 80 in with a 16 in pocket is the size after washing, not before.

Does it fit a California King? No. This is the 76 x 80 in King. A California King (72 x 84 in) is 4 in longer than the fitted sheet allows.

Is 3.1 kg a lot to wash? It fills a standard home machine on its own. Wash it alone, warm, and dry on low; linen dries faster than cotton of the same weight.
